Government of India has been providing a number of training courses to Nigeria under various scholarship Programmes, including the C.V Raman Fellowship for African Researchers programme under the India-Africa Forum Summit to promote human capacity building through scientific and technological cooperation between Africa and India.

2. The objective of C.V.Raman Fellowship is to provide opportunity for Nigerian researchers, as well as those from other African countries, to conduct collaborative research in various areas of science and technology in different Indian universities and Research and Development institutions under guidance of host scientists in India. This prestigious fellowship is aimed to further strengthen the bond between India and African nations in the fields of science and technology.

3. This year 14 scholars from Nigeria have been awarded the C.V. Raman Fellowship to pursue research programme in various disciplines including conversion of Agricultural Wastes to Liquid Hydrocarbons; Immunology; Sedimentology and Petroleum Geology in educational institutions of high repute in India. They will be shortly departing for India to carry out their research programme.

The research work is fully funded by the Government of India The selected scholars from Nigeria visited the High Commission on 16 August, 2017 and had useful interaction with the High Commissioner on matters relating to their research and other issues.
